Your Halloween festivities are well past over but you still aren’t quite ready to start preparing for your Christmas celebrations? Worry not, Trylon gives you multiple ideas so you know what to do with whom in Montreal this November.
With Your Family
For our avid readers, don’t miss out on the Salon du livre de Montreal, a true literary must see. Expozine, admittedly less known but truly just as charming, is another fair that will allow you to discover many publishers, comics and fanzines from Montreal.

As for theatrical performances, all our Potterheads will be delighted to learn that Montreal will host its own Yule Ball Celebration in an historic venue. Let yourself be carried away into this immersive experience and honour the tradition of the Three Wizards Tournament in a whimsical winter wonderland. If magic isn’t your cup of tea, let yourself be captivated by PERLES, a story that highlights a few treasures from the Quebec song repertoire through performances that perfectly combine dance and music.

Art lovers rejoice : the following exhibitions will be sure to win your heart this November. At the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, you could explore the influence of music in Basquiat’s work through the Seeing Loud exhibition. Another amazing experience awaits you at Oasis Immersion, where you could submerge yourself in the colourful world of Van Gogh in the hypnotic Distorsion tour.

With Friends
Missed your AB workout? Don’t panic, Trylon’s got you covered ! Hit two birds with one stone and come to laugh out loud at the Bordel Comédie Club, a revered cabaret where up-and-coming talents as well as established comedians perform every Tuesday night in a unique atmosphere that’s the perfect mix of theatre and bar. Along the same lines, the Montreal Comedy Club allows you, every night of the week, to attend several stand-up routines in an intimate atmosphere, all thanks to the close proximity between the comedians and the public.

For a truly relaxing evening, head straight to Cinema Moderne. At its cafe bar, you’ll be able to get your fill of snacks and drinks, a delicious feast you’ll then get to enjoy in front of a movie carefully selected by the Cinema’s team. One film is not enough? Then the Rencontres internationales du documentaries de Montréal (RIDM) is perfect for you. One of the most important film festivals in North America, the RIDM presents well over 150 unique Canadian as well as international documentaries that will satisfy everyone’s tastes.

Our next activity idea is for all music fanatics : discover new genres, sounds and artists at Mundial Montreal, an event that brings talent from all over the world right to Montreal. For even more music, head over to M for Montreal. Taking place over a span of 4 days, the festival promotes the Quebec and Canadian music scene with a set list that includes over a hundred artists. To perfectly conclude your musical adventure, why don’t you attend the Show-Frette, this year’s last outdoor party that is located right under the Van Horne viaduct? On the menu : good drinks, great food and even better music that you will be able to enjoy in an electrifying atmosphere.

With Lovers
Want to feel the love tonight? We recommend looking into your significant other’s eyes over a nice little meal ; it really doesn’t get much more romantic than that. Head over to the Majestique to share an aphrodisiac feast of fresh oysters. If you are not a fan of the marine delicacy, in addition to serving a lot of other seafood options, the restaurant’s menu also features multiple choices like refined hot dogs and salads. With a great selection of wines and tapas-style dishes to share, La Buvette chez Simone is another must for a successful date (in our humble opinion).

After your delicious dinner, we suggest a walk through the Quartier des spectacles. You could go to the Wilder Building, outside Place des Arts, where you’ll get to walk the artistic projection Effects of Influence by artist Boris VItasek on the property’s facade. Accompanied by a soundtrack courtesy of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, the show will leave you absolutely amazed. For a similar experience in the Old Port, walk on charming cobblestone streets and alleys right to the Notre-Dame Basilica. Inside, the AURA show waits for you, a completely enchanting multimedia performance projected on the edifice’s walls.

For a late night intimate encounter, Big in Japan is sure to impress your lover with its speakeasy-like decor and its menu filled to the brim with original and most importantly, delicious cocktails. Bar Henrietta is also one of our favourites : its warm and enveloping ambiance is perfect for a romantic rendezvous.

You now know what to do in Montreal this November. We hope you will all have the best of times !
